Photographing Tofino Surf Culture - Outtakes from BC Magazine

Checking the Surf in Tofino, British Columbia

Sharing some unpublished outtakes from the Tofino surf culture assignment I shot for British Columbia Magazine. My assignment was to photograph a portfolio on surf culture in the town of Tofino, B.C. The story, "High Tide in Tofino" by Zac Unger, was published in the Fall 2011 issue of British Columbia Magazine.

This was a great assignment to photograph as Tofino is far and away one of the most pristine places I've ever had the pleasure to travel to. People are welcoming, old-growth forests tower alongside sprawling beaches and there is a restaurant scene where you get to eat like royalty without changing out of your jeans. A typical day of fog and rain in Tofino has a mysterious allure and if you can catch the occasional day of Tofino sunshine then congrats... you've scored Pacific paradise.

Enjoy the pics... thanks for looking...
